Drama. Set in 1930s Ireland, this play centres around the hunger for land and the lengths that one man will go to  get what he thinks is rightfully his at the risk of losing everything. This was one of five highly acclaimed plays at the Drama League of Ireland (DLI) playwrighting competition 2024

There’s Always Tomorrow – 2m, 1f (25 mins)

Drama. Having received devastating news at her mother’s deathbed, Sarah is seeking answers and her search leads her to Peter.  She decides to approach him in a public park but is she prepared for what she might uncover. Performed by Barnstorn Theatre Company as part of Kilkenny Arts Festival 2023.

Skelliking Day (with apologies to J. M Synge!) – 2m, 1f (15 mins)

Timmy has been travelling the roads for five years trying to escape his past and find answers to secure his future.  He arrives at Maura’s house and shares with her his fantastic story.

The Letter – 2f (15 mins)

Drama. An unexpected caller brings secrets from the past which will change Nora’s life forever. Shortlisted and performed at Claremorris Fringe festival in 2023.

Schrodinger’s Cat meets Pavlov’s Dog – 2e (15 mins)

Comedy. Set in an experimental facility, Schrodinger’s cat is resisting attempts to get it into the infamous box.  Enter Pavlov’s dog that mysteriously appears from a neighbouring room and eventually demonstrates to the Cat that the box is indeed harmless but may possess mind altering properties.  But is it that simple? Performed at Essex Short+Sweet festival in 2022.

The Passenger 1m, 1f (6 mins)

Drama. A short piece for Halloween originally written for Zoom. A good Samaritan picks up a hitchiker on a cold winters night but is there a more sinister reason for her being out that night?

Caught in the Spotlight – 3m (15 mins)

Light comedy. Three friends from Ireland are living away from home and meet up to watch a match on TV.  Brian is not happy that Dermot will be there and makes his feelings very clear.  Dermot has memories from the past which when shared with the others, changes their attitude towards him. Performed by Insight Theatre in Celbridge in 2021.

Greater than Infinity – 6e (10 mins)

Comedy. Set in ancient Greece at a meeting of the Atomists group at which the concept of infinity is born among other things!  All characters are dressed in white robes and can be any age, race or sex. 

Nature Calls – 2n, 1f (15 mins)

Drama. Three friends set out on what should have been a pleasant walk in the mountains but Liz and Chris are unaware of Ben’s true motive in bringing them along leading to a chain of events which will change all their lives forever. Shortlisted and performed at Claremorris Fringe festival in 2024.

The Witness – 2m, 3f (20 mins)

Drama. Set in Ireland in 1921. Annie knows a secret but what could be the impact on her family be if she chooses to reveal all?

Trapped – 1m, 1f (20 mins)

Drama. A young woman wakes up to find herself tied to a chair.  Her captor is confused and unsure of the implications of what he has done.  Can the situation be resolved or has it gone too far!  Just who is trapped? Shortlisted and performed at Claremorris Fringe festival and later in Celbridge in 2019.

Lullaby – 2m, 1f (15 mis)

Light comedy. Shane and Julie are parents to a newborn baby girl and are struggling to cope with the demands of parenthood.  A good sleep is a distant memory.  One night, while Shane is out feeding the baby, a strange man appears claiming to be the man of Julie’s dreams who Julie has no memory of.  Maybe a good dream is exactly what she needs right now! Performed in Longford, Cavan, Sydney, Dubai and Hollywood.

Once Upon a Time – 2m, 1f (15 mins)

Comedy. The play is set in nursery rhyme land.  Jill is quite content but Jack is unhappy with his lot and wants a change.  Along with Simon, they embark upon an adventure to see what is “out there” and discover ways to change their destinies forever. Performed in Dubai (twice), Manilla, Canberra and Lucan (Ireland)

Interplay – 2m (15 mins)

Drama. The play is set in an office and begins with a manager interviewing a potential candidate for a job in the IT department.  What begins with a tense interview soon spirals into a nightmare scenario bringing the interviewer on a rollercoaster ride to a destination that he could never have foreseen. Won best script at Claremorris Fringe in 2018. Performed in Claremorris and Celbridge.

Home Sweet Home – 3f (15 mins)

Drama. Set in a nursing home, this tells the story of Rita who has been reluctantly placed in the home by her daughters.  She feels helpless, angry and rejected but help comes from the most unlikely place with the realisation that there’s always someone worse off. Performed by Insight Theatre Celbridge in 2021.

Merry go Round – 3m or 3f (30 mins)

Drama. The play is set in an in-between limbo world where suicide victims are forced to re-enact their death as part of some sort of atonement – a merrygoround that never stops.  The arrival of a new character sparks a change for all the characters in a way that none of them could have foreseen.  Performed by Amigo Productions in Wexford in 2024.

Getting Out – 2m or 2f (6 mins)

Drama. Two characters are awaiting a change in their lives but are not quite sure what that change will entail!

The Phobia Clinic – 2m (8 mins)

Comedy. Bob feels left out as he doesn’t have a phobia to define him. Can the friendly doctor at his local phobia clinic help him?

Location TBD – 1m, 1f (6 mins)

Comedy. Jack and Jane are preparing to have dinner with Paul and Barbara. The problem is neither of them are quite sure who is hosting the dinner!
